"We are committed to this community as we strive to serve the purpose of our great sorority."

In 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was founded at Howard University with a mission to be of “Service to All Mankind.” We are still fulfilling that mission 113 years later. The Nu Sigma Omega chapter was founded in Tupelo, MS, in 1980. For 40 years we have been serving Tupelo, Lee County and the surrounding areas.  We, along with AKAs across our nation and world, are serving communities through programming in five target areas: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action, Women’s Healthcare and Wellness, Building Your Economic Legacy, The Arts! and Global Impact. Our current signature program, #CAP, allows us to guide and assist high school students on their path to college admissions.

Our sisterhood takes pride in encouraging scholarship and serving our community and world. As you visit our site, please see ways in which you can help us make a difference in our communities. Additionally, if you know of a need where we can be of service, do not hesitate to reach out to us!

In service,
